We have dined in and gotten to - go several times. The food is consistently good and it is one of the few places which is reasonably priced. Pad kee mao is my favorite!

I'm so happy I decided to give this a try. I ordered the curry puff, Thai iced tea, pork pad see ew, and fried chicken over fried rice. I just came back from Thailand so I'm so happy to have found authentic Thai food in the Bay Area! The flavors, the char on the noodles, the seasonings and spices were all on point! I especially appreciate the Thai tea with concentrated Thai tea in a shape of a bear. Such a nice touch. Additionally, they have unique decorations such as wallpaper on the booths and a flower wall. The service was also good though they were pretty busy on a Friday night. This is my new favorite Thai restaurant in the Bay Area

Great service by friendly staff. Very very decent pricing for the amount of food and considering the cost of living here in the Bay. Food was delicious. We started with the papaya salad which was just okay but the entrees were great. We had pineapple fried rice, pad see ew, pad kee mao, and panang curry. Spices on the table to add heat to your personal liking. Check-in here on Yelp for a free Thai tea (tasted excellent)!

I came in for lunch on a Tuesday and received quick and friendly service. I ordered Pad Thai and a Diet Coke and my total came to $18 and some change, which I found to be fair pricing. FWIW: I chose this restaurant over the several other Thai restaurants in the area because the others all seemed to have ridiculously high prices. The Pad Thai was great and I have no complaints at all. I also really like that they serve their canned sodas chilled, with a chilled glass filled with ice. Not just a glass of ice, a chilled glass of ice. Cold Diet Coke in a cold glass with lots of ice...IYKYK. I'm not in this area often, but if I ever am, I will definitely return.

Love this place! Cute teddy bear Thai ice tea! Food is great too! People are friendly!

The ambiance was nice and chill, very nice staff that waited on me! The most important thing was the spice was nice! Very good food I recommend it, even if you are vegetarian lots of delicious options!

Ordered to-go from New Thai Elephant for the first time. The portions are very good for the price. It's located in downtown San Mateo, so parking can be a bit tricky. Pick up was very very easy. Walked in, gave them my name and order. I ordered chicken pad thai -- very flavorful and perfectly seasoned. I love adding chili powder on top! I also ordered their combination beef noodle soup (boat noodles). I loved the different noodle options! Broth was very rich and the protein portion was very generous. Overall, very very tasty experience. Will definitely have to dine in next time!

Really cute Thai place on B street with friendly staff. It was my first time having dined in. Usually DoorDash from them so I'm not new to this place. We came here for my son's birthday dinner. Ordered several items for a family of 4. Bill came out to be under $130 with tip. Gra Prow Moo Krob & Pad Gra Prow were good. Both had similar flavors to them with the Thai basil leaves. I had a little bit of the spicy eggplant which also had the similar taste. Pad Thai was good. Calamari was bland. We were really looking forward to their mango sticky rice. The mangoes were sour the sticky rice lacked that coconut milk flavor to it. Used their restroom and saw that they had a sign instructing people to flush the toilet after use. Clearly no one reads or cares because in the restroom is a toilet and a urinal and the urinal was not flushed lol. Pretty clean restroom otherwise. Parking on the surrounding streets if you're lucky, otherwise the parking garage is down the street on the next block. B street remains closed for patrons to walk up and down the street.

On a super chilly night, I really wanted soup and shrimp, so tom yum soup was the way to go. New Thai Elephant seemed pretty understaffed for a busy Friday night, as they were swamped with serving tables and couldn't get to seating people for a bit. I also got the panang curry with beef and the papaya salad. Papaya salad wasn't overly fishy, but I did feel it could have more flavor. I did like that it was served with lettuce in a way that you can wrap the salad with it. Panang beef curry was flavorful and spicy; so was the tom yum soup (nice and sour, but not overly done). The shrimps in the soup were really nice and plump too! Not over cooked at all. Overall, food came out really quickly, and although seating was a bit slow (not their fault though), service was good once you got seated.

The restaurant smelled so good as soon as we walked in *_* We came here for late lunch and were seated right away. The dining experience here was very intimate because of its dim lights and Thai music playing in the background. Although we were seated right by the window in a booth, our waiter attended to our needs in a timely manner. He didn't forget about us, gg. Food: Yums! *I don't get why people complain of Thai food being salty when Thai people actually like their food salty and spicy* Roasted duck curry - 10/10 *Generous amount of duck meat and the flavor was on point. Curry was so creamy but it wasn't super thick-- just the perfect consistency. Spice level (mild) was a TRUE mild. No complaints at all. Pad gra pow - Look at the generous serving of meat (chicken!) We didn't choose a spice level for this one but it was pretty hotttt. So flavorful and smelled so good too *_* Would recommend and will be back to try more dishes!
